EMMA'S WEBLOG
Sunday 4th January 2009

At last! I'm back at work. Let's crank it up and spin off into the unknown twirly squirl of 2009. What will it hold? Actually I sort of know. I have thrid draft of Wilma Tenderfoot and the case of the frozen hearts to do by Jan 16th then I get the weekend off before starting Wilma Tenderfoot and the case of the Fatal Footlights (working title - it IS going to change). I'm also working on Katy Brand's Big Ass show series 3 and somewhere, towards the middle of the year, I have to start the as yet unnamed third Wilma Tenderfoot book. So that's me.

Did you have a pleasant Christmas and New Year? I did thanks for asking. Though I did experience a small turning of the tides on New Year's Eve. In years gone by I would have regarded any New year's Eve in which I wasn't still up at dawn, shit faced and probably crying at the bottom of some stairs as a total failure. This year, (please don't say I've finally growed up, just DON'T) I actually (ACTUALLY) found myself staring at my watch at 10.30 and wondering when I was allowed to go to bed. *pauses, thinks about that and stares the dead eyed glaze previously only known to sharks* Want to know what time I did go to bed? 12.04. I was literally "Happy New Year and Goodnight!" Lawks a mercy. I didn't even dance softly round the room to that Abba song. You know the one. Its called Happy New Year. The clue is in the question. I didn't even do that. That's how serious it was. I wasn't even pissed, let alone drunk. Please GOD don't let my joie de vivre have gone AWOL. Mind you, I had been on two very long coastal walks across the cliffs of Cornwall so come on! I was all tuckered out!

As for resolutions, I still haven't decided what the thing I'm going to learn this year is. You can make suggestions about that now if you want. I'd prefer it if it could be something I can do at home as a break when I'm writing so think on't my internet friends. As for things I am going to stop doing - I have decided that a year into having stupid oral lichen planus that I need to take the bull by the horns and try and go into remission so from now on i am not eating any processed sugar or *weeps softly* any more booze. So anyone who wants to come round and drink the contents of my wine cellar please feel free.

Let's all have a great year. Shall we? Yes. Let's go.
